Yearning for a Yorkie? Pining for a Persian?
If you are looking for a specific breed of dog or cat, you can put in an application and be notified when we get one in.
It’s easy. You can print out the adoption application, fill it out, place on the top of the application your preference and either fax, mail or bring it by the shelter. Once you are approved your application will be placed in the breed waiting book.
How Do I Adopt?
Once you have found the animal that you are interested in adopting, you must fill out an adoption application. There are four bottom lines that must be met before you can take your new pet home:
- If you live in an apartment and are interested in adopting a dog, you must choose one that will remain under 25 pounds.
- A staff member must be able to verify your landlord will allow pets. Pet deposits must be paid before the animal goes home.
- All dogs that will grow over 25 pounds require a fenced yard IF they will live in the Bryan/College Station city limits.
- All dogs and cats living with the adopting family must be current on their rabies vaccinations. If you live in Brazos County, any dogs, cats or ferrets you own must have current Brazos County tags.
