How do I sign up for Camp Humane?

To sign up for Camp Humane, please visit www.aggielandhumane.org to download the application. Once your application is filled out, please mail or hand deliver to: Aggieland Humane Society 5359 Leonard Road, Bryan, TX 77807.

Is the payment refundable?

Once your child has been confirmed for their session your fee is refundable for a cancellation up to one week prior to camp. If an emergency arises before camp begins, please contact us to discuss. Once your child’s camp session has started, no refunds will be issued.

How will I know if my child is accepted into a session?

After payment is received, you will receive confirmation of your child’s session dates within 5 business days via e-mail.

How much will campers interact with animals?

Each animal encounter is planned with the animal’s best interest in mind. It is important to remember that these are not our personal pets-they are animals who are temporarily housed in unfamiliar surroundings. The campers will meet various species and have photo opportunities with some. The goal of Camp Humane is to teach responsibility, compassion, and knowledge of our companion animals.

Will campers get to take care of animals?

All campers will learn the proper technique for playing with our animals. Safety is our number one priority at all times. Campers will not be able to clean, feed, or walk the animals as there are specific procedures our staff follows when performing these tasks.

Where do I drop off and pick-up my child?

The cabin building to the far left of the Welcome Center at the end of the drive.

Do I need to sign my child in and out of camp each day?

Yes! For the safety of your children, you must come inside the camp building and sign-in your child each morning. Every afternoon at pick-up, a parent/guardian or designated driver must sign-out each camper with a current photo ID. Campers are not allowed to leave camp without being signed-out.

Will lunch be provided for the campers?

Make certain your child brings their own sack lunch and water bottle to camp. We do not provide lunch, however lunch will be provided on the final day of camp.

Will snacks be provided for the campers?

A small snack and a small drink will be provided in the morning and afternoon before camp is over. If you would like to send your child to camp with their own snack, you may.

Will my child be able to be with his/her friends?

We will make every attempt to ensure that your child is put into the same group as his/her friends. However, if it was not requested prior to the start of camp, there is no guarantee that we can change groups.

My child is allergic to cats/dogs, can they still attend camp?

We understand that many children have allergies to cats or dogs. We will attempt to make the animal interactions for your child as fun as possible however with very sever allergies, we may not be able to allow your child to interact with our animals. Please discuss your child’s allergies with the camp director before signing up for Camp Humane.

My child is almost 8 years old, can they attend camp?

Our camp is designed for children who are entering 3rd through 7th grade. Some material may not be suitable for children who have yet to graduate 2nd grade. We do not accept registrations for any campers who have not graduated 2nd grade.
