How do Volunteers make a difference?

Volunteers are vital to the success of our mission; to provide care and placement to lost and homeless pets in our community. Volunteers help in a variety of ways, including:
  • Animal socialization and exercise 
  • Providing a clean and safe environment for our pets
  • Groundskeeping
  • Office support
  • Special events
  • And much more!

How do I become a Volunteer at Aggieland Humane Society?

1. Fill out the appropriate Volunteer Application, including volunteer fee.
2. Attend a one-hour Volunteer Orientation.
3. Start Volunteering!

What are the rules on ages?

  • 18 Years or Older – This age group is free to volunteer without guardian consent.

  • 16 – 17 Years Old – This age group is permitted to volunteer with guardian consent. The volunteer and guardian must both be present at the orientation. Once the orientation is complete the volunteer may volunteer without the guardian’s supervision.

  • 9 – 15 Years Old – This age group is only permitted to volunteer with a guardian. Volunteers and guardians in this age group must sign up as a family by filling out the Family Application. The Family Application allows up to five family members to volunteer. Family members interested in volunteering must attend orientation together as a group.

When are Volunteer Orientations held?

  • Wednesdays at 5:00PM

  • Fridays at 12:00PM

Once you have completed the application, you can attend any orientation, no appointment is necessary. Orientations are held in the Volunteer Center at Aggieland Humane Society.

What does my Volunteer Fee include?

Maintaining a volunteer program does incur costs to our organization. Your fee ($25/individual, $35/family) helps us cover:
  • Volunteer Database 
  • Volunteer T-Shirt
  • Volunteer Name Tag
  • Volunteer Insurance
