How do I become a Court-Appointed Volunteer?
1. Ensure that your offense is one that we accept in our court appointed volunteer program.
We do not accept violent crimes, animal abuse/neglect, theft, or drug charges.We accept misdemeanors only, no felonies.
2. Fill out the Court Appointed Volunteer application, including volunteer fee.
3. Attend a one-hour court appointed volunteer orientation. Please bring a record of your offense with you.
4. Complete your first shift within ONE WEEK of attending orientation.
When is Court Appointed Volunteer Orientation?
Mondays at 5:00PM.
These orientations take place in the Volunteer Center at Aggieland Humane Society. Please arrive 15 minutes early as we start on time and tardiness is not acceptable. Make sure you bring a record of your offense and required hours with you to orientation. If you fail to provide this paperwork, you will have to attend a different orientation.
If you are under 18 years of age, you must have a parent/guardian present with you at orientation.
