Peggy Sherman | Board Treasurer
Originally from West Virginia, Peggy Sherman has called several states home, including Florida, California, Arizona, and Texas, before settling permanently in Texas in 2007. A proud Aggie, she earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration ('95) and a Master of Architecture ('98) from Texas A&M University. Professionally, she spent 27 years as a financial advisor and earned her CFP® designation in 1990 before retiring at the end of 2024.
Peggy's connection to Aggieland Humane Society began through a coworker at Briaud Financial Advisors who asked her to write an article for the shelter's newsletter about Qualified Charitable Contributions from IRAs. Later that same year, she visited the shelter in search of a companion and found Max, a handsome mixed-breed dog she named Maxwell Smart Sherman, who quickly became her best friend.
In 2014, she was appointed as the City of College Station's representative on the Aggieland Humane Society Board of Directors for what was originally a two-year term. More than a decade later, she continues to serve because of her admiration for the dedication of the staff and fellow board members, and their shared commitment to advancing the organization's vision and mission. Peggy is honored to support Aggieland Humane Society's lifesaving work and its ongoing efforts to create a better future for pets and the people who love them.

A longtime supporter of Aggieland Humane Society’s mission, Darby has adopted five dogs from the shelter over the years: Z.Z., Bailey, Tara, Buddy, and Poppy. Through nearly three decades of involvement, she has witnessed the organization expand its impact and develop programs that better serve pets and people throughout the community.
